Improving search rankings of IIMC on Google search results

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961. Over the years, IIMC has grown into a mature institution with global reputation, imparting high quality management education. IIMC needed to improve the search engine rankings of a number of relevant keywords in their website. The primary objective was to increase the overall volume of organic search traffic.

How we did it

The targeted keywords rapidly climbed up the rankings. Most notably, "diploma in management" came up in Google's first page within just 4 months, from a position of beyond 250, where it was before the optimization started. We achieved this through a combination of ethical on-page optimization and strategic off-page techniques, including manual link building through eBook marketing, press releases, blog commenting, social media marketing, and directory submissions.

What we achieved

During the project period, the number of Organic Search Traffic Visits to the site increased by 94.31%. The number of new visits to the site, on the other hand, increased by 92.58%. The project was a success and the client was pleased with the outcomes.
